The parables are stories in the Gospels believed to be told by Jesus.
Jesus’ parables are often simple and memorable stories. Each story conveys a message.
Many of the stories are about everyday things, such as a woman baking bread (parable of the Leaven) or a man knocking on his neighbour’s door at night (parable of the Friend at Night). Yet they deal with major religious themes, such as forgiveness or the importance of prayer.
