Saint Thomas Aquinas was a Catholic Dominican priest from Sicily.
He lived in the Middle Ages from 1225 to 1274 CE. He is recognized as an important thinker and a great philosopher.
He attempted to combine ideas from the Ancient Greek philosopher Aristotle with the principles of Christianity.
Fifty years after his death, Pope John XXII pronounced him a saint.
